About The Position

The Sr. Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for planning, scheduling, and supervising maintenance work for the Department of Athletics across multiple athletic facilities. This role involves supervising full-time staff, student staff, and contract workers. The technician will perform installation, repair, and maintenance for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment, as well as maintain and order supplies and equipment. Responsibilities include preparing job estimates, assisting with athletic event setups, and accompanying engineers on new projects. A key part of the role is maintaining and repairing air handlers, VAV boxes, heat exchangers, fan coils, pumps, motors, and frequency drives in athletic facilities, with the ability to diagnose and repair issues. The technician will also schedule and oversee maintenance, repair, and renovation services between Athletics, Physical Facilities, and contractors, and supervise/direct HVAC, plumbing, and other projects. Hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising regular and student staff are also included. The position requires the ability to work nights and weekends and be available for 24-hour call.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of relevant experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of trades including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, schedules and supervises maintenance work for the Department of Athletics at multiple athletic facilities.

  • Supervises and helps to directs HVAC, plumbing, and other projects in athletic facilities.
  • Hires, trains, schedules and supervises regular and student staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends and be available for 24-hour call.
