Sr. BMS Electrical Engineer, Power Electronics
About The Position
Lucid is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in battery management systems (BMS) for electric vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess a can-do attitude, approach work with vigor and determination, demonstrate excellence, learn quickly, and strive for perfection in a fast-paced environment. This role involves designing, validating, and enhancing BMS, prototyping, testing, and validation, contributing to drivetrain and vehicle level integrations, and collaborating with mechanical design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to bring products to mass production. The engineer will be part of a team developing electronics products.
Requirements
- Solid background in electronics components and circuits
- Debugging/validation experience with MCU, OpAmp, AD/DA, SPI, CAN, etc.
- Hands on experience for hardware development and troubleshooting
- Experience in PCB design, using schematic capture and layout tools
- Familiar with various equipment (Oscilloscope, probe, power analyzer, etc.)
- Experience in EMI test and mitigation
- Bachelors in the areas of electronic or electrical engineering.
Nice To Haves
- PhD in Electrical Engineering + 0 years relevant experience
- Masters in electrical engineering + 3 years relevant experience
- Bachelors in electrical engineering + 5 years relevant experience
- Hands on experience with BMS hardware design
- Knowledge of FPGA design & implementation
- Knowledge of safety and EMI requirements related to high power applications
- Familiarity with embedded software design
- Experience with Vector CANape/CANalyzer
- Experience with high-voltage
Responsibilities
- Design, validate, and enhance battery management system (BMS) for electric vehicles
- Be responsible for prototyping, testing and validation of BMS
- Contribute to drivetrain and vehicle level integrations from prototype to production
- Work closely with mechanical design, manufacturing and supply chain to bring the product into mass production
