About The Position

The Doe Run Company is seeking a Sr Benefits Analyst to administer benefit communications, eligibility, reporting, billing, and compliance for various benefit plans including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and retirement plans. This position is based out of the Corporate Office in St. Louis, MO. The Doe Run Company is a privately held natural resources company with a 160-year history, dedicated to environmentally responsible mineral and metal production. This position offers a competitive base pay and is eligible for the Company variable pay (bonus) plan. Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in benefits or human resources, of which at least 3 years are directing and supporting employee benefit programs.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Ultimate Kronos Group (UKG), or other HR Systems.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Detail- and results-oriented.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey information and provide assistance to employees and retirees.
  • Ability to appropriately handle confidential information.
  • Knowledge of laws related to benefits, confidentiality, and Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field, preferred.
  • May consider high school diploma (or equivalent) and equivalent experience in human resources.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct benefit presentations for new hires and open enrollment.
  • Field questions from division human resources staff, employees, and retirees regarding benefits claims and issues.
  • Perform quality checks of benefits-related data and provide data entry & audit support.
  • Conduct scheduled and ad hoc data tracking and reporting as needed (examples include, but are not limited to GRI, AAP, accrual calculations, etc.).
  • Reviews 401(k) deferral loan transactions and maintains retirement records.
  • Responsible for compliance and reporting activities, including the annual audits, ADP testing, PCORI fee, Form 5500s, and other duties pertaining to compliance and reporting as required.
  • Oversee the benefit vendor invoice process, complete monthly benefit expense closing, and work with the broker and finance to provide regular benefits cost reporting.
  • Assist with the set-up and administration of benefit plans in BSwift and UKG.
  • Assist with administering the employee leave program, including interacting with employees on leave requests.
  • Assist in the annual base pay and variable pay process, including salary survey participation, annual merit process, and hourly rate tables.
  • Completes tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner by following EHS (environmental, health, and safety) policies, procedures, and best practices; support and assist peers in working in a safe, compliant manner; report unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and provide feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
