This individual will serve as a primary technical support specialist for the Neara application and its supporting AWS data services. Neara is a physics-enabled digital twin representing infrastructure and serves as a central platform for risk modeling, vegetation management operations, asset inspections, LiDAR processing, and an image repository. The role supports AWS environments, including the AWS Aurora database used as the asset-inspection database of record, S3-based image repository capabilities, imagery upload tools, system integrations, and business partners using the platform for configuration and report generation. The role provides application development and technical support for Neara and related AWS platform components. It supports, analyzes, and modifies application logic, data pipelines, and integrations; manages Aurora database support activities such as schema and table changes, data validation, performance troubleshooting, and coordination of security updates; and supports S3 image repository operations, imagery uploads, API integrations, and vendor-delivered platform changes. The engineer codes, tests, debugs, and documents software and configuration changes, analyzes requirements, tests and integrates components, and supports end users and vendor partners. This specialist is expected to solve complex problems, recommend best practices, work independently except in the most complex situations, and may lead functional teams or projects. The position is a six-month W2 contract in Portland, Oregon, with a hybrid schedule of Tuesday through Thursday onsite.
