About The Position

Drives the design, development, and delivery of high-impact Availability & Reliability Engineering solutions that improve platform resiliency, operational efficiency, and service reliability. Applies advanced software engineering principles, cloud technologies, observability practices, and automation capabilities to build scalable solutions that enhance incident response, operational readiness, and application health. Leads large and complex initiatives within the engineering organization, providing technical guidance, mentoring team members, and partnering across teams to support strategic objectives related to automation, operational excellence, resilience engineering, and AI-enabled operations. Translates operational insights, technology risks, and reliability challenges into practical solutions that improve system performance, strengthen stability, and support the organization's evolving technology landscape. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in software development.
  • Deep knowledge of multiple programming languages, software architecture, and design principles.
  • Deep understanding of software development lifecycle, testing, deployment, and security practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
  • Professional certifications in cloud, reliability, observability, or software engineering disciplines such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP), Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD), or equivalent.
  • Expertise in cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, microservices, container orchestration, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), observability platforms, and resiliency engineering practices.
  • Solid experience with Agile delivery frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, deployment automation, and engineering practices that improve reliability, scalability, and operational effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing observability solutions utilizing telemetry, logging, monitoring, distributed tracing, and operational analytics to improve service health, operational visibility, and incident response effectiveness.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, identify recurring patterns, and recommend long-term improvements that enhance system stability and reliability.
  • Experience developing automation solutions, operational tooling, AI-enabled engineering capabilities, or intelligent workflows that improve incident response, operational insights, service restoration, or engineering productivity.
  • Solid understanding of application architecture, infrastructure architecture, deployment pipelines, system dependencies, capacity management, performance optimization, and recovery strategies within complex enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale technical initiatives focused on reliability, service resilience, operational excellence, technology restoration, or continuous improvement within a business or technology domain.
  • Strong communication and technical leadership skills with the ability to partner effectively across engineering teams, mentor junior engineers, communicate technical concepts to stakeholders, and translate operational findings into actionable recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Implements software architecture and engineering approaches for complex initiatives within the job area, contributing to technical plans and working to achieve operational targets with major impact on results.
  • Adopts and refines advanced software engineering standards, practices, and governance mechanisms for the job area, influencing how multiple teams improve quality, reliability, and delivery.
  • Collaborates with senior engineers, product partners, and architecture teammates to shape technology approaches for the domain, providing deep technical insight and proposing solution patterns that inform local roadmaps and priorities.
  • Leads the end-to-end technical design and implementation of scalable, secure, and highly available software solutions for the job area, producing patterns and examples that other technical professionals can follow.
  • Independently troubleshoots and resolves complex technical issues in the area of responsibility, designing innovative architectures and performance, reliability, and scalability improvements that advance business objectives.
  • Provides ongoing technical guidance, coaching, and training to other engineers, delegating and reviewing work from lower-level technical professionals and raising the technical bar through design reviews and knowledge sharing.
  • Evaluates emerging technologies and techniques relevant to the job area, building prototypes and solution concepts that contribute measurable input into new features, products, or capabilities.
  • Contributes to the development of long-term technical goals and plans for the area of responsibility through well-reasoned recommendations, design proposals, and implementation experience.
  • Leads large or complex initiatives within the job area, coordinating and delegating technical work that may span outside the immediate team, and ensuring cohesive, high-quality outcomes with limited supervision.
