About The Position

Rivian is seeking an Audio Systems Test Integration Engineer to own the physical engineering environment and test infrastructure for the Audio Team. In this RIV-5 level role, you will act as a force-multiplier for the team by designing the fixtures, managing the vehicle software state, and maintaining the lab and bench environments necessary for development and validation. Your primary mission is to enable our Electrical, Acoustical, and QA engineers by providing them with robust, up-to-date, and high-fidelity test platforms and data. You are a seasoned professional who can move seamlessly between mechanical CAD design, software-based system updates, and hardware characterization.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of professional experience in audio systems hardware product development or systems integration.
  • Working knowledge of CATIA, NX, Solidworks or similar for mechanical design of test aids and fixtures.
  • Proficiency with Klippel, SoundCheck, and Audio Precision (APx).
  • A collaborative "support-first" mindset; able to take technical requirements from multiple leads and translate them into physical test setups.
  • Experience preparing and sharing characterization results and participating in detailed design reviews.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference for CATIA, as this is our in-house tool.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage and resolve complex issues related to audio development benches and HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) rigs.
  • Ensure benches are accurately provisioned with the latest in-house electronics and vehicle software.
  • Lead the buildout, expansion, and maintenance of the audio lab facilities.
  • Support the Electronics and Acoustics leads by performing characterizations of components using Klippel, Audio Precision, Soundcheck, and other test platforms, providing the raw data necessary for design iterations.
  • Utilize CATIA, NX, Solidworks, or other CAD to design custom test fixtures, acoustic enclosures, and microphone mounting solutions.
  • Assist the Audio QA Engineer as needed by executing established test suites on physical hardware.
  • Work with a high degree of independence, requiring little daily instruction.
  • Exercise good judgment in maintaining lab safety, equipment calibration, and data integrity.
