About The Position

The Sr. Associate, Electrical Engineer designs and develops electrical systems for integrating electronic equipment on military and commercial aircraft and ground stations. Work may include avionics, RF, LAN, data processing, sensor systems, power distribution, electrical-load analysis, load-shedding schemes, and supporting aircraft system testing and integration. The role works across aircraft platforms and coordinates design activities with Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production to ensure designs meet requirements at minimum cost. The engineer uses PLM and CAD software to create and review system wiring diagrams, circuit-breaker panels, control panels, and other design items. The role also leads a small team of electrical design engineers, trains and mentors junior engineers, interprets statements of work and system requirements, and learns L3Harris technical process specifications and design practices. The position is on-site in Plano, Texas, with a 9/80 schedule. It requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance and to work in aircraft hangars and travel to and from flight lines; some positions require boarding and exiting aircraft. Travel or relocation may be required.
