The Sr. Associate, Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for the integration of electronic equipment on military/commercial aircraft and ground stations. The design includes creating system wiring diagrams using the Capital Harness System tool as well as circuit breaker panels, control panels and other items using Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools. Designs can include development of Avionics Systems, RF, LAN, Data Processing, Sensor Systems, Power Distribution Systems, Electrical Loads analysis, Load shedding scheme to name a few, along with the opportunity to support testing and integration of systems on the aircraft. The role involves working on a wide variety of tasks and aircraft systems on various aircraft platforms. The engineer will create and review system wiring diagrams, circuit breaker panels, control panels and other items using PLM Software and CAD tools, such as Capital Harness, NX, and TeamCenter. Responsibilities include researching and preparing engineering drawings, coordinating design activities with Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production to ensure designs meet requirements at minimum cost. The position also involves leading a small team of electrical design engineers to implement electronic subsystems by breaking down requirements and work packages, providing drawing status, and budget estimates to platform leads, as well as training and mentoring junior engineers. The engineer will learn and become familiar with L3Harris Technical Process Specifications and related design practices and methodologies. Good computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office and strong communication skills are essential. The role requires the ability to interpret SOW, requirements, and Systems Definition. The engineer must be able to travel to and from flight line and work in aircraft hangar environments, with some positions requiring the ability to board/exit aircraft. Willingness to travel or relocate, if necessary, and perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
