We are seeking a professional, team-oriented candidate with strong customer service, computer, and phone skills to help patients get scheduled, gather medical records, enter and schedule from EPIC referrals, and verify insurance information before their visit. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Priority consideration given to candidates with experience registering and scheduling patients in EPIC. Location: Nebraska Medical Center | Nebraska Medicine Omaha, NE Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hr/wk Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Mandatory Training for the first 2-3 weeks, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Why Work at Nebraska Medicine? Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of experience in a face-to-face customer service environment required.
  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written customer relations skills required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with an interdisciplinary team required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare, collections, registration, or military medic corps preferred.
  • Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, nursing assistant or medical assistant course work preferred.
  • Previous experience with word processing and data entry programs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate referrals to designated clinical programs and services by registering and scheduling patients, obtaining previous medical records and referring to financial counseling as needed.
  • Assess insurance benefits, pre-authorization/referral requirements, and status related to life time limits, and/or coordinate insurance information with designated insurance coordinator.
  • Serve as a liaison and facilitate referrals to internal and external clinical programs and services.
  • Assist patients in understanding co-pay requirements, deductibles, and out of pocket expenses.
  • Assist with development and implementation of protocols to improve efficiency and to provide education to internal and external physicians and practice staff.
