About The Position

Perform agricultural inspections of loan collateral (livestock, feed, receivables, etc.) as established in approved credit documentation. Inspections will include on-site verification and analysis of accounting records to determine the risks and quality of collateral. Evaluations completed are based on selected borrowers as requested by Lending and Credit Management and in accordance with established guidelines. Plan, perform, and coordinate inspections of agricultural loan collateral to evaluate the risks of selected borrowers in collaboration with lending and credit management in accordance with established guidelines. Prepare collateral exam reports in an efficient manner and support the department’s ongoing goal of simplifying reporting to focus on critical areas of credit risk. Provide subject matter expertise (SME) and guidance (written and verbal) to customers, lenders, management, and others to communicate findings, issues, and recommendations. Evaluate risks, review operational practices, and collaborate within the enterprise to best utilize the department’s resources. Support the department’s productivity goals, while appropriately balancing this goal with the need to effectively communicate Collateral Exam findings and fully analyze problematic situations. Maintain and demonstrate a thorough understanding of relevant industry issues and trends. Exhibit professional behavior and promote positive working relationships and promote operational changes to improve internal and external customers’ experience whenever practical. Develop, communicate, and pursue achievement of actionable goals / attributes that are consistent with the company’s and the department’s goals / operating philosophy. Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank’s BSA / AML Program, as applicable to job duties. Complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, agricultural business, or relevant discipline.
  • Knowledge of agricultural lending and collateral analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal / collaborative / diplomacy skills
  • Knowledge of accounting concepts, agricultural practices, and systems.
  • Willingness to travel with overnight stay up to 50% (ag inspections).
  • Candidates must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship.
