As a Senior Accounting Associate, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of Capital One's financial reporting. You'll be responsible for daily and monthly control execution, and provide critical support for monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc financial analytics, all contributing to a smooth and precise month-end close for our growth-oriented organization. This role will have the opportunity to engage with groups across the organization as part of new technology implementation, issue resolution and process improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
  • At least 1 year of accounting, finance, or audit experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2+ years of accounting, finance, or audit experience
  • 1+ year(s) of experience with banking reconciliations
  • 1+ year(s) of experience with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of the Retail Bank’s reconciliations, including documentation and presentation of results to management and senior leadership
  • Ensure accounting practices and documentation procedures are performed in accordance with accounting and governance policies and procedures
  • Assist in the remediation of issues impacting overall reconciliation environment health
  • Respond to requests from other departments and perform research
  • Participate in key corporate projects such as system upgrades, enhancements, or process improvements
  • Assist with Audit Inquiries
