About The Position

The Custom SoCs (System on Chip) team, part of the Cloud-Scale Machine Learning Acceleration team, is responsible for the design and optimization of hardware in AWS data centers, including AWS Inferentia, a custom-designed machine learning inference datacenter server. The team handles massive scale and rapid integration of emergent technologies, seeking an ASIC Design Engineer to trail-blaze new technologies and architectures while ensuring high design quality and making appropriate trade-offs. The team supports new members with a mix of experience levels and tenures, fostering knowledge-sharing and mentorship, with senior members providing one-on-one mentoring and code reviews. They focus on career growth by assigning projects that help team members develop engineering expertise and take on more complex tasks.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant field experience
  • BS + 8yrs or MS + 6yrs in EE/CS

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
