Job Purpose: To provide business support to integral functions of the North American Royalty Administration team and others at SMP.

Requirements

  • 7 years’ experience in royalty data and analytics
  • SQL and Data Visualization experience
  • Advanced Excel skills desired
  • Experience in Jira a plus
  • Comfortable and have experience working with senior level staff, external clients, colleagues, and business partners to provide customized service based on individual needs
  • Keen attention to detail and enjoy research, data analysis, and learning new technology
  • Self-motivated and enjoy a semi-autonomous role where you have ownership and accountability for your individual work output
  • Propose innovative solutions to utilize technology to automate and improve efficiency in processes
  • Think critically, problem solve, and collaborate well with colleagues in other departments
  • Communicate verbally and in written form in a way that explains complex data in a clear, concise, and professional manner
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Work on a high-performing team of motivated, passionate individuals who love what they do
  • Analyze and interpret royalty data to provide business intelligence to both our songwriters and internal colleagues including senior management, as well as our business partners. This includes but is not limited to: Gather data from various systems and data sets to provide historical summaries and perform detailed analysis
  • Research and reporting for Business Affairs, Legal and Creative teams
  • Provide our songwriters and their teams with answers to their royalty questions
  • Analyze royalties to identify necessary adjustments, and facilitate adjustments in conjunction with royalty processing team and various other departments
  • Examine royalty data to identify fluctuations and variances; facilitate appropriate corrections
  • Calculate advances due
  • Work on and propose innovative projects, data solutions, and process optimization
