About The Position

Support the Customer Insights efforts by providing retailer, consumer purchasing, product sales analysis and reports that are used to support the objectives of both Boar’s Head and our retail partners. This support will include, but not be limited to, category/business review development, sales tracking, assortment analysis, distribution reviews and promotional performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (in Business Administration, Marketing or a closely related field) preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the Consumer Products Goods industry in an analytical/category management role is required.
  • Advanced and proven data analysis and reasoning skills.
  • Technical understanding and experience of query tools/reporting databases.
  • PC Keyboard, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau.
  • Excellent/proven analytical and reasoning skills.
  • Strong reading and writing comprehension skills, previous business writing curriculum preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Experience pulling and analyzing syndicated sales data/POS is required.
  • Work Planning, Organization & Execution - advanced ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while meeting set deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of grocery retail DSD operations is preferred.
  • Experience with syndicated data (Circana and/or Nielsen) and analysis background preferred.
  • Experience with advanced analytics tools is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with shopper data (loyalty card or panel) is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify business trends and drivers; Communicate findings to execute action and drive sales.
  • Synthesize/analyze syndicated, internal, and retailer data to support the business needs of Boar’s Head and the assigned retailer sales teams.
  • Effectively engage with internal cross-functional teams and retailer sales teams to understand their needs/objectives and create relevant deliverables to satisfy their business needs.
  • Extract retail sales data from internal systems and organize them for the audience according to accessibility privileges.
  • Leverage third-party data resources to broaden perspective and identify opportunities; third-party resources include Circana syndicated data and Home Scan Panel, Nielsen TDLinx and Spectra geography attributing and targeting, retail performance tracking, and Numerator Promotions ad collection.
  • Build a narrative integrating multiple sources of data with accompanying elevated visualizations to convey the meaning of that data in a powerful and compelling fashion.
  • Develop presentations that tell a story of opportunities and solutions with clearly quantified expected results.
  • Prepare key opportunities, scorecards, category reviews, and promotional effectiveness analyses for both Boar’s Head and appropriate retailer sales teams; communicate gaps accordingly.
  • Confidently craft and present elevated insights and presentations to internal sales, marketing, executive teams, retail partners, and local purveyors.
  • Become a domain expert on Boar’s Head library of tools.
  • Work independently or collaboratively to complete tasks and projects.
  • Perform all and any other tasks assigned by Boar’s Head management personnel
