About The Position
Goldman Sachs Asset & Wealth Management is seeking a highly-motivated member to join its lean (5-person) Corporate Development team in New York. This position offers candidates a unique opportunity to contribute to high-visibility strategic and corporate development initiatives with regular exposure to senior leadership. Analyst and Associate level candidates will be considered depending on experience. The Corporate Development team is focused on external growth through the evaluation and execution of strategic M&A, commercial partnerships, and business strategy. As part of the divisional leadership team, the Corporate Development team regularly engages with senior divisional stakeholders, the Executive Office, and the GS Board of Directors.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred: finance)
- 3 years of experience (preferred: investment banking or equity research, FIG experience is a plus)
- Robust analytical, quantitative, and technical abilities (including financial modeling and valuation experience)
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex analyses into concise takeaways
- Background or strong interest in the asset & wealth management industry
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Morningstar, Preqin, FactSet, Visible Alpha, and other market data providers a plus
Responsibilities
- Support evaluation and execution of all aspects of M&A and partnership opportunities (including building the strategic case, financial model, and valuation)
- Conduct in-depth competitor and industry research to identify key trends driving change; form independent, fact-based assessments of key opportunities and threats
- Serve as a subject matter expert across traditional & alternative asset management and wealth management sectors; develop deep knowledge of competitors
- Prepare materials for AWM, Executive Office, and Board-level communications on strategy, performance, and competitive positioning
