About The Position

This hybrid position will be located at our Corporate Office in New York, New York. Expectations for hybrid in-office schedule is three days a week; Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Foot Locker, Inc. is seeking a data-driven Allocation Systems & Strategy Analyst to support our Allocation and Inventory Management function. This role will be responsible for optimizing inventory flow, supporting allocation strategies, and driving data-backed decisions that improve in-stock position and overall inventory productivity. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, experience working with retail data, and proficiency in data tools such as SQL, Power BI (or similar BI platforms), and advanced Excel abilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in allocation, inventory management, planning, or a related analytical role
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence tools
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data modeling)
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Nice To Haves

  • Retail industry experience strongly preferred
  • Understanding of retail KPIs (sell-through, weeks of supply, GMROI, etc.)
  • Experience with allocation or planning systems (e.g., JDA, Blue Yonder, SAP, Oracle Retail)
  • Familiarity with forecasting, demand planning, or replenishment algorithms

Responsibilities

  • Perform ad hoc analysis and data extracts to support business initiatives and strategic decision-making
  • Leverage SQL and other data tools to extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets
  • Develop prototype dashboards and reports using Power BI; collaborate with Business Insights team for implementation, enhancements, and reporting optimization
  • Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable insights for cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ensure data integrity by validating outputs and reconciling discrepancies across systems/reports
  • Identify opportunities to streamline reporting and automate recurring analyses
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through deep-dive analysis of sales, inventory, and allocation performance
  • Identify gaps and recommend corrective actions
  • Develop KPIs and reporting to support optimization of inventory deployment and demand forecast accuracy
  • Analyze SKU/Size/store-level performance to inform allocation strategies and improve sell-through
  • Evaluate inventory productivity using metrics such as sell-through, weeks of supply, and turn
  • Support the development and execution of allocation strategies to maximize sales and minimize markdown risk
  • Track allocation effectiveness and continuously refine strategies based on performance results
  • Assist in piloting and scaling new allocation methodologies, tools, or systems
