The Sr. Advisor, Development Project Leader will be accountable for leading R&D projects, primarily in Farm Animal health, from pipeline entry through approval, utilizing both internal and external resources. This role involves strategic planning, project execution, and collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Veterinary Science, Animal Science, Chemistry, Biology a related field, or a foreign equivalent.
3 years of experience in job offered or any research scientist related job titles.
3 years of experience in product development within the Animal Health industry (pharmaceuticals) including project leadership, project management across species, technology types & R&D stages.
3 years of experience in Parasitology and parasiticides.
3 years of experience in veterinary medicine including farm animal veterinary medicine.
3 years of experience in Farm Animal business.
3 years of experience in Clinical Development and Clinical Operations.
3 years of experience in developing farm animal projects based on company objective, pipeline, and portfolio.
3 years of experience in working in the Animal Health industry and with Contract Research Organizations (CRO).

Responsibilities

Accountable for leading R&D projects (mainly Farm Animal projects including parasitology) and multi-functional teams from pipeline entry through approval, using both internal and external resources.
Scope may include multiple species, technology types and registration pathways.
Contribute to new project opportunities consistent with the global innovation strategy, working to evaluate in close collaboration with both R&D and Commercial Leaders.
Deliver the project goals OTIF (on time in full) by proactively managing project plans in accordance with approved timing and budget.
Define optimized project plans for projects including internal/external resource needs for R&D and manufacturing, development costs, cost of goods and margin.
Ensure the appropriate strategy is in place and sufficient milestones are identified, monitored, and communicated.
Ensure permanent collaboration and interaction with critical functions outside of R&D (e.g. Corporate Strategy & Global Launch, Manufacturing & Quality) to ensure proper project valuation & ROI.
Assembling, revising and evolving the project progresses.
Work with functional leadership to assign best aligned SMEs to project needs.
Collaborate effectively and timely communicate with functional SMEs to plan and execute projects.
Set clear goals and objectives for the project team members, hold self and others accountable.
Positively influence, foster creativity, and motivate project team members.
Align with project manager to ensure robust preparation/updates of project plans and timelines for assigned projects.
Provide strategic inputs to facilitate accurate and timely project plans, timelines, and budgets.
Identify & communicate to executive leadership project specific risks, status and opportunity, including impacts.
Proactively identify & communicate project risks, mitigations and remediation plans.
Effectively lead engagements with regulatory agencies, external collaborators/vendors as needed for projects.
Serve on product task force efforts to support R&D, commercial projects as assigned.
Own end-to-end process and planning for high-budget projects that align with the organizational and policy goals at Elanco.
