About The Position

Join our dynamic Radiology Team where everyone has a role in providing extraordinary care! This Sr. Advanced Modality Technologist position is in Cardiothoracic OR & Diagnostic Radiology. The role involves performing all responsibilities of an Advanced Modality Technologist and assuming responsibilities of the Lead Tech in their absence. It also includes assisting in the development and training of students and/or new employees. Senior Advanced Modality Technologists must have 3 or more responsibilities within specific categories such as hospital/department initiatives, patient experience and employee engagement, quality assurance, process improvement, and mentorship. All responsibilities are performed under the direction of the lead/charge of advanced modality technologist. BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position, requiring the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Requirements

• Associate or Trade School Equivalent education.
• 2-5 years of experience.
• IEMA - Illinois only, excl MRI license.
• R.T.(R), CT,MR,M,BD,CI,VI,RCIS certifications.

Nice To Haves

• 5-10 years of experience.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification.
• Intravenous Therapy certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient and equipment for procedures.
• Performs studies independently, in on-call situations, portable exams, and other sites as required by work area.
• Assists with regulatory compliance for the department (ACR, JC). Maintains up-to-date regulatory information.
• Oversees department quality assurance program under the direction of the Clinical Instructor or Lead/Charge.
• Participates in department or hospital safety/quality process improvements and initiatives.
• Leads the team in improving patient experience and/or improving employee engagement.
• Mentors new employees and/or clinical students under the direction of the CI.
