Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, space architecture, or space mission design.
  • Experience supporting space constellation programs or satellite systems.
  • Experience developing Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and system interfaces.
  • Experience with Telemetry, Tracking, and Command (TT&C) systems.
  • Experience with flight dynamics operations and space mission planning.
  • Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and system modeling tools (e.g., MagicDraw)
  • Systems architecture development for space and ground systems
  • Requirements management and decomposition
  • Technical Performance Measures (TPM) development and analysis
  • Probabilistic system modeling and mission performance analysis
  • Interface definition and architecture decomposition
  • Space mission design including sensing, communications, and payload systems
  • CONOPS development and system thread analysis

Responsibilities

  • Develop space and ground system architectures using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies.
  • Perform requirements analysis and decomposition into physical, functional, and logical architectures.
  • Define and manage system interfaces and Interface Control Documents (ICDs) across mission segments.
  • Develop and analyze Technical Performance Measures (TPMs) to evaluate mission effectiveness and guide system trade studies.
  • Coordinate mission performance design within an MBSE model, ensuring alignment across subsystems and stakeholders.
  • Lead system-level trade studies, segment budget allocation, and architectural decision-making.
  • Drive interface definitions derived from mission performance and architecture requirements.
  • Support space mission architecture design, including sensing, communications, payload management, and mission data processing.
  • Develop Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) and system threads for mission execution.
  • Coordinate system design changes across cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Support flight dynamics and constellation operations, including: Orbit determination Collision avoidance Station keeping Orbit insertion and de-orbit planning Launch and Early Orbit Phase (LEOP) support
  • Plan and support space-to-ground contact operations and Telemetry, Tracking & Command (TT&C) architectures.
  • Collaborate with government customers, program partners, and engineering teams to define a common integrated system solution.
