About The Position

The MIT Sloan School of Management – Office of the Dean is seeking a Senior Administrative Assistant to provide high-level support to the Deputy Dean for Global, Research, and Strategic Initiatives. This role involves collaborating with peers across the Institute to assist the Deputy Dean in interfacing with Institute colleagues and officers, developing in-depth knowledge of the Institute and Sloan School, and providing interpretation and resolution to varied situations and problems. The assistant will vet, review, and streamline communication flow to and from the Deputy Dean, and support the Deputy Dean in teaching efforts in both degree and non-degree programs. Responsibilities include preparing complex itineraries for international and domestic travel, ensuring timely reconciliation of financial accounts, vendor payments, and reimbursements, and reviewing expenditures for fund availability, accuracy, and compliance. The role also involves creating agendas, invitations, presentations, and speeches, and overseeing logistics for meetings and small events, including securing space, catering, AV equipment, and tracking attendance. Other related duties may be required.

Requirements

  • A minimum of five years of office related experience.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Tact and discretion with sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Proficiency with PC standard applications.
