Slate is looking for an energetic, organized, experienced ADAS Release Engineer to join our growing team. Slate is a new US Electric Vehicle company transforming the battery electric vehicle space. Our technology is designed to deliver the most reliable and most efficient low cost-of-ownership electric vehicle on the market. The Sr. ADAS Release Engineer will develop the requirements and manage the Tier 1 suppliers for Front Camera module and other features listed in the Program Description Letter. This Engineer will report to the Manager, Electrical Hardware and Accessories and will be responsible for driving the development of the electrical ADAS requirements for all the Slate battery electric vehicles. The Engineer will be challenged to develop unique solutions for camera systems for a non-traditional vehicle. Responsibilities will be broad in scope and complex requiring creativity, superior initiative, good judgement, and leadership skills. This is a hands-on position that will also require leadership of Tier 1 suppliers.

Requirements

5 years relevant experience
Hands on / detail oriented
Comfortable working with low voltage and high voltage systems
Excellent communication
Team building and relationship building skills.
Specific experience including Opened and closed loop control systems for sensors, actuators, body controller, ECUs, etc.
Low voltage components such as circuit breakers, relays, wiring, etc.
High voltage components such as DCDC, motor and inverter, battery, and on-board charger, etc.
CAN-Bus, LIN, and Ethernet communication protocol
MATLAB, Simulink, and State flowchart
8D, five whys, and fishbone process to diagnose complex issues
Industry standards such as FMVSSS, NHTSA, DOT, NFPA, SAE, NEC, etc.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics or Computer Software Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program is preferred.

Responsibilities

Release the control module(s) Part Numbers in the Product Lifecycle Management system and maintain release levels as the design matures.
Review hardware design with cross functional teams to ensure the hardware meets requirements.
Develop and document test plans for the required front camera module.
Lead DFMEA reviews to identify technical risks and drive the controls logic to improve detection and reduce potential failures of the design
Train technicians and troubleshooters on the theory of operations and controls logic behind each sub-system and component
Work with HIL/SIL Validation Engineers to develop test plans to ensure the design meets program requirements. Iterate as issues are uncovered.
Implement and maintain cyber-security best practices to ensure robust customer and corporation protection over the lifecycle
Utilize LEAN Engineering methodologies throughout
