About The Position

The Sr. Accountant will be responsible for performing a wide range of accounting and financial reporting duties, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and company policies. This role will play a critical part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting audits, and driving continuous improvement in financial processes and controls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
  • CPA certification required
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting field, 3 years in public accounting preferred
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting standards and internal controls
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems such as Sage
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data
  • Experience in implementing and improving business processes and systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with effective communication skills
  • Primarily sedentary work performed in a climate-controlled office environment
  • Regularly required to sit for extended periods
  • Occasional standing and walking within the office area

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute key month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks
  • Manage accounting transactions and implement system solutions to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting
  • Build cross-functional relationships across departments to support company initiatives, ensuring adherence to policies; identify and escalate key issues to senior leadership, partnering to drive problem-solving and decision-making
  • Recommend and implement changes to strengthen the internal control environment
  • Contribute to the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses as needed
  • Oversee the processing of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring transactions are recorded correctly and reconciled regularly
