About The Position

At STACK, the Senior Accountant is an essential part of the Finance and Accounting Department. You will be responsible for the monthly production and maintenance of all general ledger accounting, lead and manage the monthly close process, assist with financial statement preparation and analysis, technical accounting, process improvement, external audit coordination, and be the right-hand person to the Accounting Manager. To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent communications skills, strong attention to detail, be exceptionally organized, self-motivated, and a master problem-solver. You should be able to thrive in a fast-paced multitasking environment and easily adapt to change and rapid company growth. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for accounting and customer service (external and internal).

Requirements

  • BS in Accounting required
  • 3+ years prior work experience
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office product suite, especially Excel
  • Detail-oriented
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and communications skills
  • Enjoys collaborating and works well cross-functionally with other teams
  • Ability to execute, process, and prioritize tasks with minimal-to-no supervision
  • Proven success in creating efficiencies in processes and procedures
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must pass comprehensive background screening

Nice To Haves

  • CPA and public accounting experience preferred
  • Multi-entity and international experience preferred
  • NetSuite experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Complete the month end close process and preparation of journal entries
  • Prepare monthly financial package including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement with budget vs actual commentary
  • Evaluate and record transactions to the general ledger timely and accurately
  • Analyze and interpret complex accounting transactions in accordance with GAAP
  • Prepare account reconciliations and research discrepancies as needed
  • Provide technical accounting research and implementation support
  • Assist with purchase price accounting, acquisition entries and integration of companies
  • Work cross functionally with various departments and teams to understand operating results and create efficiencies in accounting processes
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with clients and internal departments, including Finance, Operations, and Treasury teams
  • Provide support and prepare documentation for the external audit
  • Manage and maintain fixed asset accounting and capitalization policies
  • Ad-hoc reporting, analysis and special projects to move the business forward
