About The Position

Iteris is seeking a Sr. Accountant to be an integral part of the accounting team. Reporting to the Supervisor of General Accounting, this role will mainly focus on payroll and inventory and be responsible for the day-to-day operations and month-end close process. This includes journal entries, general account reconciliations, flux analysis, and accruals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in accounting or related field
  • Over five (5) years of accounting experience
  • Working experience with U.S. GAAP
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills
  • Experience with ERP systems, i.e., Oracle, SAP, etc.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Able to work on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency while meeting deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with payroll and inventory is preferred
  • Public accounting experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Record and reconcile all payroll related journal entries, including biweekly payrolls, PTO activity, bonus accruals, and other payroll adjustments
  • Own the inventory month-end close processes, including recording cost & receipt accounting entries, inventory reserves, product return allowances, PPV capitalization, and other related inventory tasks
  • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of journal entries, accruals, expense allocations and account reconciliations
  • Partner with supply chain, finance, HR, and other cross-functional teams on accruals and other accounting-related matters
  • Prepare and review month-end flux analysis
  • Prepare and file multi-state sales and use tax returns, ensuring compliance with jurisdictional requirements and timely remittance
  • Create and review Oracle accounting processes on a weekly basis
  • Responsible for the quality, accuracy, timeliness and documentation of account reconciliations
  • Assist with auditor requests related to quarterly reviews, annual financial statement, and overhead audits
  • Improve, develop and implement documentation and processes related to areas of responsibility
  • Assist with ad-hoc analysis and other special projects
