About The Position

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing key accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This role works closely with the accounting team and cross-functional partners to maintain compliance with GAAP, improve processes, and support audits. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • BS Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of progressive experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a collaborative mindset
  • Organized, strong work ethic and detail-oriented
  • Passionate with an ability to identify opportunities to streamline processes
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft suite
  • Desire to learn the fundamentals of the industry and take on new challenges
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task in a flexible, fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or CPA a plus
  • Supervisory experience a plus but not required
  • JD Edwards, SAGE and systems conversion experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations (manage the account reconciliation process)
  • Analyze financial data and investigate variances against budget and prior periods
  • Assist in month-end and year-end activities to ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Maintain strong documentation standards for journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Develop an understanding of the business and forge strong relationships with the manufacturing sites and other departments
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to inquiries
  • Responsible for the fixed asset monthly process
  • Partner with FP&A and accounting resources to ensure budget details are loaded properly
  • Ownership of payroll and benefit accounting entries as required
  • Responsible for all grant accounting inclusive of accounting, tracking and reconciliation
  • Oversee and ensure the accuracy of expense reporting module - Certify
  • Manage the lease accounting setup, monthly accounting, reconciliation and compliance
  • Provide strategic oversight and governance for all R&D tax credit activities across the organization
  • Lead a monthly Capital Committee meeting and collaborate with project managers
  • Assist with special projects, and policy updates as needed
  • Drive process improvements to streamline the flow of information within the department and across the company’s sites
  • Key accounting resource supporting the conversion and implementation of a new ERP system
  • Provide guidance and review the work of accountants
  • Perform other duties as assigned
