About The Position

As a Senior Accountant on the Financial Reporting team, you will be a primary contributor to the preparation of the Company's SEC filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K. The role carries meaningful responsibility and offers growth potential for a technically strong candidate interested in expanding their expertise and taking on increasing responsibility over time. This position operates within a deadline-driven environment where filing dates, press releases, and transaction activity create periods requiring extended hours and weekend availability. Candidates should be prepared for these demands and comfortable performing at a high level when priorities shift and timelines compress. Outside of peak periods, the role offers flexibility in schedule and work location. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills are essential for success in this position, as are excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, FASB Codification, and SEC reporting requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to research and apply technical accounting guidance
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Co-Pilot
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year university in accounting
  • 4+ years of public accounting and/or SEC reporting responsibilities (Form 10-K and 10-Q preparation experience)
  • CPA or CPA candidate required

Nice To Haves

  • oil and gas accounting experience preferred
  • Experience with Workiva, Intelligize, and/or Claude AI a plus
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review SEC filings, including financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A, with a high degree of accuracy and ownership
  • Prepare, analyze, and review supporting work papers that will be scrutinized by internal and external auditors
  • Prepare statement of cash flows and earnings per share calculations
  • Complete XBRL tagging for SEC filings
  • Research and apply technical accounting guidance, including US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
  • Partner with stakeholders across the organization to source and interpret key business and financial developments, resolve issues, and drive timely and accurate SEC filings
  • Support internal and external audit procedures
  • Contribute to capital markets transactions, corporate securities matters, and acquisition/divestiture activity; support annual proxy preparation; and review investor relations materials
  • Identify issues early and help address them before they escalate
  • Conduct business with the highest ethical standards
