About The Position

The Senior Accountant, Corporate Accounting role is part of NBCUniversal’s centralized corporate controllership function, supporting corporate operations in New York, NY, and London, UK. The position supports monthly and quarterly close processes, ensures transactions are recorded accurately and timely, and assists with reporting results in accordance with GAAP. It also helps standardize processes, identify efficiencies, support best practices, and advance process-improvement initiatives. The role works closely with domestic and international operating companies, the Corporate HQ Controllership team, international business teams, and NBCU’s Global Finance Organization service provider. It reports to the Director, Corporate Accounting and requires balancing competing priorities while meeting tight deadlines.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
At least 3 years of accounting experience.
CPA or currently working toward CPA qualification.
Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including communication with peers and upper management.
Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to work as a team member.
Critical-thinking skills and ability to research ad hoc accounting issues.
Acute attention to detail.
Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

Big Four public accounting experience.
Knowledge of SAP/S4 and BlackLine functionality.
Experience working in a large multinational corporation with transfer pricing requirements.
Experience working with AI; Copilot is preferred.

Responsibilities

Support monthly and quarterly closing processes, including preparing journal entries, intercompany processing and reporting, and responding to corporate data requests.
Work with domestic and international operating companies and collaborate with the Corporate HQ Controllership team and international business teams to meet close-to-report timelines.
Assist with ad hoc data requests across the corporate controllership function.
Coordinate with the NBCU Global Finance Organization service provider on outsourced tasks and help ensure transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and related analyses as required.
Prepare intercompany recharges between groups and to other business units within NBCUniversal, Comcast, and SKY, as required.
Assist with preparing annual accounts for UK statutory reporting purposes.
Support the annual UK audit by responding to external auditor requests.
Support business process redesign and implementation of new applications, including testing, documentation, and process-improvement initiatives.
