About The Position

North Point Technology is hiring a mid-level SQL Server DBA to support GPO's SQL Server and SQL Cluster environment alongside a senior SQL DBA. This is a full-time, contingent position on a contract award, anticipated to start on November 16, 2026. The role requires 8 hours per day within 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM ET, with periodic scheduled after-hours work for patching and reboots. The position supports the U.S. Government Publishing Office in Washington, DC, and is a remote role within the U.S.

Requirements

• 4+ years of database administration experience, primarily SQL Server
• Experience with SQL Clustering, T-SQL, and SQL scripting
• Exposure to Oracle, PL/SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MariaDB
• Experience creating and managing standalone SQL databases
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly

Nice To Haves

• Microsoft SQL Server or Azure data certification
• Federal support experience

Responsibilities

• Administer SQL Server, SQL Clusters, and standalone SQL databases
• Execute patching, installs, and routine maintenance
• Implement and test failovers, backups, and restores
• Support MariaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MS Access databases
• Troubleshoot database and application issues, including SharePoint
• Work ServiceNow tickets and RFCs within SLAs
• Monitor systems with Idera and SolarWinds and build dashboards
• Contribute to weekly activity reports
