About The Position

Preferred Mortgage Services, LLC (PMSI) is seeking an experienced SQL/ETL Developer to join their technology team in Henderson, Nevada. This role involves working with high-volume financial and operational data to drive reporting, reconciliation, automation, analytics, and critical business decisions. The position requires a candidate who enjoys delving into complex data, optimizing processes, and solving difficult problems within a sophisticated environment that includes T-SQL, ETL processes, stored procedures, and data movement across multiple systems. The developer will also have opportunities to work with automation, AI-assisted development tools, and cloud technologies as the team modernizes its technology stack.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional experience in SQL development, ETL development, data engineering, database development, or a closely related technical role.
  • Advanced hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
  • Strong experience building and troubleshooting ETL and data-integration processes.
  • Experience with complex queries, stored procedures, functions, views, relational database design, and large datasets.
  • Strong understanding of query optimization, execution plans, indexing, and SQL Server performance tuning.
  • Experience investigating existing or legacy SQL and tracing business logic, calculations, dependencies, and data lineage.
  • Experience with data validation, reconciliation, data quality, and production troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to translate business requirements and rules into dependable technical solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and business teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical field. Equivalent relevant education and professional experience may be considered.
  • Currently authorized to work in the United States without employer or third-party sponsorship, now or in the future.

  • Experience with financial services, mortgage servicing, banking, fintech, or another data-intensive or regulated environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, functions, and database solutions.
  • Support financial reporting, reconciliation, operational processing, analytics, and other business-critical workflows.
  • Investigate existing and legacy SQL to understand business logic, calculations, dependencies, and data lineage.
  • Troubleshoot challenging production and data issues and develop solutions that address the root cause.
  • Tune queries, analyze execution plans, improve indexing, and optimize critical processes for speed.
  • Design, build, maintain, and optimize ETL processes across multiple systems and data sources.
  • Develop data transformations and integrations for large-volume financial and operational datasets.
  • Troubleshoot failed workflows, data-quality issues, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Improve data movement, validation, reconciliation, reliability, and scalability.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Utilize AI-assisted development tools and coding agents for development, analysis, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting.
  • Review and validate AI-generated code before production deployment.
  • Use C#, Python, PowerShell, or similar technologies for automation and data-processing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Operations teams, developers, and system architects to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Ask pertinent questions, investigate independently, explain findings, and work collaboratively to solve complex problems.
