Requirements

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience as a Database Administrator
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL queries, complex joins, and query optimization
  • Strong experience designing and developing stored procedures, functions, and triggers
  • Proficient in T-SQL, PL/SQL, or equivalent procedural SQL languages
  • Experience with query performance tuning and execution plan analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments
  • Strong documentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Installation, configuration, and upgrade of database systems (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Database backup and recovery strategies (RMAN, native backups, point-in-time recovery)
  • Performance monitoring, tuning, and optimization
  • Database security management including user access controls, roles, and permissions
  • Capacity planning and storage management
  • High availability and disaster recovery implementation (clustering, replication, mirroring)
  • Patch management and version upgrades
  • Database design and data modeling
  • Index management and optimization
  • Monitoring database health and proactive issue resolution
  • Troubleshooting database performance and connectivity issues
  • Implementing and maintaining database documentation
  • Automation of routine DBA tasks using scripts (PowerShell, Shell, Python)
  • Collaboration with development teams for database-related requirements
