SPS Technician (Noncertified)
About The Position
The SPS Technician performs a variety of sterile processing duties, including decontamination, sterilization, supply, case cart assembly, and packaging. The role fulfills documentation requirements to help ensure the department efficiently distributes high-quality sterile products that meet customer needs. The technician maintains thorough knowledge of instrumentation, equipment, utilization, and sterile processing. In the supervisor’s absence, the technician is responsible for running the floor independently and performing and delegating assigned duties. The position works collaboratively with the O.R. to provide the instrumentation required for patient care and reports to the Manager.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Current Sterile Processing Distribution Technician Certification from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution Inc. (CBSPD), or ability to become certified within 18 months of hire.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience in Central Sterile Supply.
