About The Position
Mercedes-Benz of Smithtown is seeking Sprinter Diesel Technicians at all experience levels, including technicians from competitive brands or independent shops. Technicians diagnose, maintain, and repair Mercedes-Benz vehicles, including mechanical and electrical systems. They use specialized diagnostic equipment, communicate repair needs and timelines to customers and service advisors, maintain accurate work records, follow Mercedes-Benz quality standards and safety and environmental regulations, and work collaboratively to meet customer needs. Sign-on bonuses may be available depending on dealership policy and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
Requirements
- Experience at any technician level; A-, B-, and C-level technicians are invited to apply.
- Strong teamwork skills.
- Clean and valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical problems on Mercedes-Benz vehicles, including engine, transmission, suspension, steering, and brake systems.
- Use specialized diagnostic equipment and tools to identify and troubleshoot issues and recommend appropriate repairs or replacements.
- Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections, according to Mercedes-Benz guidelines and standards.
- Stay current on technical information and procedures and participate in ongoing training and certification programs.
- Communicate with customers and service advisors about needed repairs, estimated costs, and completion timelines.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, time spent, and customer interactions.
- Perform work to Mercedes-Benz quality standards and specifications and comply with safety and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with the service team to meet customer needs and complete work efficiently and effectively.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance service quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Follow dealership policies and procedures related to safety, security, and customer service.
