About The Position
Ahern has an exciting opportunity for a Sprinkler Fitter Apprentice to join the Sprinkler Fitter Apprenticeship program working in our Davenport, IA location. This is a 5-year apprenticeship program working side-by-side with a journeymen sprinkler fitter installing automatic fire protection systems. Your employment relationship will be governed by a collective bargaining agreement. Apprentices will complete on-the-job training and a 5-year correspondence course toward becoming a journeyman sprinkler fitter.
Requirements
- At least 18 years old.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license along with a clean driving record to operate company vehicles.
- Pass an appropriate drug screen and physical.
- Self-starters.
- Strong mechanical background.
- Good working and learning attitude.
- Able to work in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Ability to perform a great deal of lifting and climbing.
Responsibilities
- Install automatic fire protection systems.
- Complete on-the-job training.
- Complete a 5-year correspondence course toward becoming a journeyman sprinkler fitter.
