About The Position

Ahern, a family-owned business with over 145 years of experience, is seeking a Sprinkler Fitter Apprentice in Rochester, MN. This is a 5-year apprenticeship program where the apprentice will work alongside a journeyman sprinkler fitter, installing automatic fire protection systems. The program includes on-the-job training and corresponding coursework, leading to a journeyman sprinkler fitter certification, at which point the journeyman earns over double the apprentice hourly rate. Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Clean driving record to operate company vehicles
• Pass an appropriate drug screen and physical
• Self-starter
• Strong mechanical background
• Good working and learning attitude
• Able to work in a fast-paced construction environment (both in and outdoors)
• Pass a background check
• Pass reference checks
• The job entails a great deal of lifting and climbing

Responsibilities

• Work side-by-side with a journeymen sprinkler fitter installing automatic fire protection systems
• Complete on-the-job training
• Complete 5 years of corresponding coursework toward becoming a journeyman sprinkler fitter
