About The Position

As a Sprinkler Apprentice, you will be tasked with the installation, modification, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems. Along the way, you will have the support of a tight-knit and experienced team who will help you grow and learn, while having the chance to share your knowledge and experience to help them all grow as well.

Requirements

  • A member of UA Local 179 in good standing.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Capable of performing physical labour to include carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Majority of work all above head.
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Read and understand construction blueprints, diagrams, and specifications used in installation activities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Acting as an ambassador of the CFLS brand in all interactions with CFLS employees, customers, and business partners.
  • Installation, inspection, and repair of water-based fire suppression systems.
  • Able to cut, thread, groove steel and copper piping.
  • Able to join tubes of piping using grooved or threaded methods. Brazing may be required at times.
  • Gain working knowledge of NFPA and building code requirements.
  • Maintain safe working environment and adhere to company safety guidelines as directed.
  • Work with sales, design, engineering, & project management to complete projects within the contracted scope, and contracted budgets to deliver a successful project for our customers.
  • Provide and maintain project as-built drawings, material lists, test sheets, and any other required contract documents.
  • Successfully deliver CFLS Contracting projects within budget.
  • Performing inspections, testing and ongoing maintenance for fire sprinkler systems as requested by CFLS’s customers and/or subcontractors in accordance with CFLS’s service delivery standards, NFPA requirements, & the local AHJ.
  • Completing deficiency repairs or modifications to fire sprinkler systems as directed.
