About The Position

We are seeking a Spring Tax Intern who has an entrepreneurial spirit and is passionate about the accounting industry. The internship position is a general introduction to a tax “busy season.” Our Tax Intern will be responsible for identifying and resolving technical tax issues, researching, and supporting various tax projects, and carrying out other projects as assigned. You will support professional tax preparers and assist with general office duties through tax season. This involves financial and accounting responsibilities, including preparing federal and state tax filings. It is critical to be able to work well in a team environment and be able to give and receive coaching. The is paid position with a flexible weekly time commitment. The internship will begin January and end April 16, 2027.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage responsibilities in a team environment.

  • Strong technical skills in accounting and tax.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and resolve technical tax issues.
  • Research and support various tax projects.
  • Carry out other projects as assigned.
  • Support professional tax preparers.
  • Assist with general office duties through tax season.
  • Prepare federal and state tax filings.
  • Gain exposure to complex U.S. and multi-state income tax returns for business entities, including C-corporations, S-Corporations, partnerships, individual income, gift tax, and estate tax returns.
  • Understand the tax return process with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Research and consult on various tax matters.
  • Utilize tax-related software to research tax matters.
  • Support the office in maintaining and enhancing client relationships.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of each client's business and finances.
