About The Position

At Lucchese Bootmaker, craftsmanship defines our brand. The Spray Tooling Post is responsible for executing intricate decorative Painting and custom design elements on boot uppers front and back, vamps and foxing along with Tooling and different patterns the boot may require. This position personalizes footwear and combines cowboy boots that meet Lucchese standards. The Spray Tooling Post meet production goals while maintaining alignment with company values, safety standards, and quality expectations.

Requirements

  • Strong visual acuity to inspect detailed paint work.
  • Ability to read and interpret production tickets and paint colors.
  • Knowledge of different techniques while using a spray gun.
  • High attention to painting detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to work overtime as production demands require.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of related experience in boot manufacturing, leather goods production, or an industrial sewing environment required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven manufacturing environment.
  • Frequent use of hands, wrists, and fingers for repetitive painting motions.
  • Ability to maintain focus and precision throughout repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds as needed.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required for detailed stitching work.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret production tickets and work orders before getting any paints.
  • Making sure styles and work order numbers belong to the boot.
  • Use painter tape to cover areas like stitching, or any designs on the boot to keep paint free.
  • Acetone quarters, vamps, or Foxx- Soaking a rag with acetone to clean quarters, vamps or Foxx.
  • Work with paint, acetone, and solvent.
  • Tape leather to cardboard to get ready to paint.
  • Make sure you have the correct paints before applying unto the boot.
  • With a thin base coat of paint using a spray gun to apply even layers.
  • Make sure you have the right colors to blend paints of all sorts.
  • Paying attention to detail and understanding work orders.
  • Assist other working areas as necessary.
  • Support and comply with all company policies and safety procedures.
  • Minimize rework and material waste through careful craftsmanship.
  • Support team production flow and meet departments' efficiency standards.
