About The Position

Nature's Workforce, a branch from Consolidated Divisions, Inc. (CDI), Colorado’s largest environmental contractor and industry leader, is seeking an experienced Spray Technician to work in our commercial Landscape Maintenance division. The Spray Technician will be responsible for making applications of various fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides to turf and landscape beds on commercial and residential properties. Must be willing to learn and follow processes and procedures in an ever-changing market with many different products. Also, will be responsible to oversee a crew with 1-2 additional spray helpers.

Requirements

  • Basic math skills and conversions required to measure and mix proper amounts of liquids and granular products.
  • Ability to read maps and locate jobs readily.
  • Must be self-motivated, reliable, trustworthy, and driven.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have great written and oral communications skills.
  • Detailed record keeping and paperwork is extremely important, and required daily.
  • Ability to properly measure, mix, load and apply, fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides, etc.
  • Pass a background check.
  • Government employee verification.
  • Have a good motor vehicle record.
  • Ability to operate equipment such as trucks, trailers, spray rigs, ATV’s and other equipment required to perform daily functions.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of mechanical sprayers/spreaders, truck mounted tanks with application ability and calibration equipment is a plus.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish and English is a plus.
  • Previous field experience a plus but willing to train the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Fertilizer, herbicide, fungicide, and insecticide applications to turf, shrubs, trees, and landscape beds.
  • Mix, load, and apply fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides to numerous sites each day.
  • Calibrate sprayers and spreaders.
  • Comply with the Department of Agriculture laws and regulations regarding the use of pesticides as outlined in the general, turf, and right of way categories.
  • Complete required paperwork and reports on a daily basis.
  • Clean and maintain equipment on a regular basis to ensure good working order.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Oversee a crew with 1-2 additional spray helpers.
  • Winter work will consist of various tasks including helping other crews, applicator training and snow removal operations.
