About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Spray Painter specializing in fireproofing applications to join the team in Sterling, VA. The role involves applying fireproofing materials to structural surfaces using spray equipment while ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications. The position is based on construction sites and in industrial environments, often outdoors and at various heights, and requires strict adherence to safety guidelines and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Requirements

• Proven experience as a spray painter, preferably with fireproofing materials.
• Knowledge of fireproofing products, application techniques, and safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret project specifications and blueprints.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and working at heights.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, masking, and protecting areas not to be coated.
• Operate spray equipment to apply fireproofing materials evenly and efficiently.
• Inspect surfaces before and after application to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
• Maintain spray equipment and tools in good working condition.
• Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Collaborate with project managers and other team members to meet project deadlines.
• Document work performed and report any issues or discrepancies.
