About The Position

Bee Sweet Citrus, Inc. is seeking a Spray Manager to help run our Central Valley citrus operation, specifically in the Fresno County area. This position will report directly to the PCA Director and Director of Farm Operations, and will be involved in all aspects of our citrus farming operation. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and must have experience working in farm management.

  • Must be able to drive and travel for the job; a clean driving record is a must
  • Must be able to work long hours in extreme weather conditions, including nights
  • Must be able to follow our Fleet Safety Policies
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Exercise a variety of tasks, sometimes simultaneously
  • Use arms to reach and hands to grasp and manipulate large and small objects.
  • Stand for long periods at a time
  • Work with, and/or in close proximity to, equipment with moving mechanical parts.
  • Work outdoors in diverse weather conditions
  • Lift, push and/or pull objects whose weight may exceed fifty pounds.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of farm management experience OR
  • Associate’s degree in Management, Business or AG related fields

Responsibilities

  • Candidate will be responsible for supervising spray operators in the application of chemicals and fertilizer to crops
  • Responsibilities will also include monitoring pesticide recommendations for all ranches and varieties, working closely with management, collaborating with applicators to minimize pest damage and maximize productivity and oversee spray applications to ensure safety and accuracy
  • Ensure all required personal protective equipment (PPE) is being used and safety protocols are in proper working order for spray operators
  • Calibrate sprayers and chemical application equipment to execute the recommendation as written
  • Ensure spray applications follow rules and regulations required by law
  • Evaluate efficiency and identify actions needed to improve performance while also managing employees, equipment, and water sources to maximize efficiency

  • Overall management of employee related issues and safety with the assistance of the Human Resources department
