About The Position

The Spray Painter is responsible for painting in the manufacturing areas related to Boeing Floorboards or other projects as assigned. They will ensure all customer specifications are met and a high quality product is delivered.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent required
At least one year painting experience required
Experience with paint mixing to specifications, to include polyurethane, latex, and other types required
Must be able to obtain a Boeing site access badge and pass Egress training for floorboard survey inside KC-135 Stratotanker (when required)
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to work both independently and effectively in teams
Ability to perform repetitive tasks for several hours a day
Required to perform multiple paint related tasks with a need to periodically enhance/progress skills in order to meet the changing conditions
Must possess strong attention to detail
Must be able to report to workstation without assistance
Must be able to sit for long periods of time
Must be able to climb up and down aircraft stairs and work ramps
Must be able to lift over 50 pounds
Consistent bending, stooping, climbing, and reaching
Must be able to conduct repetitive motions on a daily basis

Nice To Haves

Three years of experience with production spray painting preferred
Experience with industrial or auto body painting a plus
Knowledge of spray painting equipment: Setup, teardown, and cleaning
Familiar with MIL-PRF-85285 Paint Performance Specifications; A-A-1800 Varnish Performance Specifications; A-A-59166 Non-Slip Coating

Responsibilities

Paints various items using sprayers and brushes for the purpose of meeting customer requirements
Performs mixing and matching of colors to meet customer specifications
Sands and cleans material to be painted using required solutions
Repairs surfaces to be painted using appropriate materials
Cleans and preps paint booth along with changing filters during and after paint operations when required
Maintains paint inventory
Complies with OSHA regulations
Must be willing to work overtime based on business needs
Maintains good housekeeping
Adheres to company policies and procedures and work in a safe and productive manner
Other duties as assigned
