About The Position

The Spray Coating Technician will apply urethane/rubber to products during the fabrication process. This role will be expected to use high-pressure spray proportioning equipment to produce a smooth, even, defect-free surface. The Spray Coating Technician will sand, apply bondo and operate powered hand tools. This position will mount and dismount pieces from rotisseries and apply coating to meet production schedule. This role is a part of playground fabrication. It's perfect for someone who wants a hands-on job and takes pride in executing with a high degree of accuracy and precision. We'll train you on the chemistry and machinery and coach you along the way. This is a Monday-Friday role, from 7am - 3:30pm at our Englewood office.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Ability to push/pull heavy objects
  • Experience using industrial spray coating or painting tools, or automotive paint tools.
  • Pre-employment medical test is required, relevant to respirator program protocol.
  • Ability to wear respirators and required PPE.
  • Understands finishing operations to create paint-ready products.
  • Understands operational characteristics of tools and equipment used in spray coating.
  • Familiar with practices relating to health and safety involved in coating/mixing assignments.
  • Proficient with methods and techniques of storing equipment, materials and supplies.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Produce a high quality coated product with no defects, ready to paint.
  • Maintain and service high pressure spray proportioning equipment.
  • Apply urethane coatings to EPS, Fiberglass, and Foamed sculptures.
  • Use High pressure spray proportioner to apply a variety of surface coatings such as urethane or other protective or decorative basecoat products.
  • Use, maintain and clean spray guns, tools, mixers, rotisseries, paint booth and other equipment as required.
  • Mount elements on rotisseries, ensuring safety and security so that products do not come off while in production.
  • Maintain records of labor time and materials used, and record appropriately.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area; observe and implement proper safety practices.
  • Assist in performing other painting/coating related maintenance duties as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
