About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate engineer to join the SPR Engineering Team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to perform various level engineering activities for planning, research, study, design, construction, modification and maintenance, operation, and optimization of wastewater treatment facilities or entry-level engineering activities for SPR’s Engineering Division.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, chemical, or environmental engineering.
Engineer Intern (EI) certification or ability to acquire within six (6) months of start date.
Basic knowledge of engineering principles, practices, methods and standards.
Basic knowledge of wastewater treatment.
Computer skills required to work with Microsoft Office, Adobe, Bluebeam Revu, artificial intelligence tools, and hydraulic modeling software.
Ability to conduct field work including, piloting, sampling, construction inspection, and other duties as assigned.
Good verbal and written communication skills to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external project stakeholders and colleagues, support meeting participation, and prepare emails, presentations, and technical memoranda.
Three (3) years of minimum engineering experience (for Engineer II).
Intermediate knowledge of engineering principles, practices, methods, and standards (for Engineer II).
Intermediate knowledge of wastewater treatment (for Engineer II).
Valid Colorado driver's license and a clear or acceptable MVR.
An equivalent combination of education, training and relevant job experience may be substituted.
New hires must, as a condition of employment, pass the following pre-offer and post-offer/hire processes: in-person interviews, reference checks, and background checks, which may include local police check, DMV check, drug screen, and fingerprint checks through CBI/FBI.

Responsibilities

Performs specific portions of complex engineering assignments under the direction of more experienced staff.
Collects, analyzes, and makes recommendations concerning technical engineering data.
Performs basic engineering calculations, analysis, and modeling.
Reviews existing drawings, plans, and specifications for new facilities and construction as assigned.
Inspect and track construction projects and coordinate activities and information as needed.
Assists in the collection and analysis of wastewater samples for pilot research and optimization.
Interprets lab results and data for projects.
Prepares presentations, written memoranda, reports, and specifications.
