About The Position

The Spotter performs yard-truck and trailer safety and mechanical checks, moves and positions trailers, and operates a forklift to assemble cross-dock loads. The position also includes housekeeping duties to keep floors and work areas clean. The scheduled hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds and a commitment to safe work practices.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability and willingness to work non-traditional shifts and hours.
Hazmat and Doubles endorsements.
Minimum of 1 year driving tractor/trailer combinations.
Knowledge of DOT regulations on equipment standards and inspections.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
CDL A certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform complete safety and mechanical checks of the yard truck and trailers to be moved.
Drive to trailers, back up to them, raise the fifth wheel, make connections, remove wheel chocks, and move the trailers.
Back trailers into designated spots, disconnect them, and install chocks.
Drive a forklift to assemble cross-dock loads.
Perform housekeeping duties, keeping floors and work areas clean and neat.
Promote a safe and productive workplace through proper PPE use, safe powered-equipment operation, and safe lifting techniques.
Participate actively in contributing to a successful safety culture in the facility.
