About The Position

Ace Hardware is seeking a Spotter for the 2nd Shift, working Sunday through Wednesday from 3:30 PM to 1 AM. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient operations within our distribution centers. The Spotter will be responsible for the safe and effective movement of yard trucks and trailers, ensuring that loads are accurately positioned for cross-docking and outbound shipments. Requirements

Be a safety champion by promoting a safe and productive workplace through your own actions, including the proper use of PPE, safe operation of powered equipment and safe lifting techniques as determined by the role.
Be an active participant in contributing to a successful safety culture in the facility.
High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability and willingness to work non-traditional shifts and hours.
CDL A Certification.
Hazmat and Doubles endorsements.
Minimum 1 year driving tractor/trailer combinations.
Knowledge of DOT regulations on equipment standards and inspections.

Responsibilities

Performs a complete safety and mechanical check of the Yard truck and trailers to be moved.
Drives yard trucks to trailers, backs up to the trailer, makes connections, removes wheel chocks, and drives away.
Backs the trailer into the designated spot, disconnects the trailer, and installs chocks.
Drives a forklift to make up cross-dock loads.
Performs housekeeping duties, keeps floors clean, and maintains neat and clean work areas.
