About The Position

As a Sportsbook Clerk at MGM Springfield, you will play a vital role in enhancing the guest experience by assisting them in placing wagers on various horse racing and sporting events worldwide. Your customer service skills and knowledge of wagering processes will ensure that guests receive accurate and efficient assistance, contributing to a lively and engaging environment. Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Has a high school diploma or GED

Responsibilities

  • Write, verify, and make payments on tickets for race and sports wagers in accordance with department policy and procedures and ensure compliance to applicable jurisdictional gaming statues and regulations
  • Maintain a cash bank for his/her shift, responsible for accepting payment and making correct change when necessary
  • Stock Race & Sports book Writer/Cashier's stations with adequate supplies; keep all stations neat and clean
  • Make payments on winning tickets in an accurate and timely manner; verify tickets and payoffs
  • Maintain and reconcile bank for assigned shift, following established cash-handling policies and procedures
  • Explain wagering rules, including betting lines and odds, and procedures to guests
  • Create and enter player tracking cards
  • Ensure the protection of customer’s rewards and adherence to credit lines
  • Notify management of escalated or prevalent guest issues/concerns and any apparent suspicious activity
