Sportsbook Cashier - Part Time
About The Position
Boyd Gaming Corporation is seeking a Sportsbook Cashier to join their team. This role is responsible for efficiently handling cash and winning tickets for guests, supporting the Sports Betting operation through excellent customer service, selling tickets, and ensuring accurate payouts. The ideal candidate will maintain a cash bank, document transactions, balance the bank at the end of each shift, and process wagers and winning tickets accurately. They will also communicate sports betting rules, assist guests, identify peculiar betting patterns, and ensure compliance with regulations. The role requires maintaining a clean work area and safeguarding confidential information.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Customer Service experience required
- Basic math skills required
- Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license and satisfy all regulatory requirements
- Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older
Nice To Haves
- Previous retail experience is beneficial
- Cash handling experience is preferred
- Experience in sports or online gaming highly desired
Responsibilities
- Obtaining a cash bank from the casino cage.
- Maintaining a cash bank, documenting all transactions, and balancing the bank at the end of each shift.
- Properly accounting for all transactions and necessary paperwork.
- Placing wagers as requested by guests and verifying and processing winning tickets.
- Ensuring that all information is accurately entered into the till.
- Properly processing any voided wagers.
- Following the Company’s Standard Operating Procedures.
- Effectively and consistently communicating sports betting rules and providing betting assistance to guests in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
- Remaining alert to any peculiar betting patterns such as “proxy betting” and reporting promptly to the Supervisor.
- Consistently maintaining visibility in guest areas and immediately responding to any guest questions and/or concerns.
- Being aware of popular lines and odds in the Sportsbook.
- Ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Safeguarding the Company’s confidential and privileged information.
- Cleaning up individual work area and helping to maintain the Sportsbook’s cleanliness.
