About The Position

The Assistant Athletic Director/Director of Sports Performance – Olympic Sports position will manage and administer all aspects of the Sports Performance Program within University, ACC and NCAA rules and regulations. Responsibilities to include but not limited to practice/competition activities, player/skill development, recruiting, directing and implementing plans for daily practices and competitions, organizing and administering clinics, etc., mentoring student-athletes, fund-raising efforts and overall administrative tasks within the operation of the program. Must demonstrate integrity, leadership, a strong commitment and ability to motivate, teach, counsel, and recruit academically qualified students. Promote academic progress of student-athletes on and the off-field. Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire through athletics.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal communications skills.
  • Computer skills.
  • Demonstrated integrity, leadership, and a thorough knowledge of the sport.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Strong commitment and ability to motivate, teach, and counsel.
  • CPR /First Aid certified.
  • CSCS (from NSCA) and/or CSCCa certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree.
  • 5-7 years of experience in relevant independent instructional or educational activities.
  • Experience managing sports performance staff and facilities.
  • Previous strength and condition coaching experience with collegiate student-athletes, preferably in an NCAA Division I program.
  • Successful intercollegiate coaching experience, preferably at the Division I level.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge for establishing policies and procedures for day-to-day operations.
