About The Position

Under the supervision of the Sports Director and Sports Coordinator, this position helps run a safe, appropriate program for children and/or adults. The role supports sports activities and may include record keeping and tracking sporting events. Employees are expected to follow YMCA policies, procedures, safety practices, and emergency procedures; demonstrate the YMCA mission and core values; and provide service that builds relationships and fosters loyalty among members, guests, and staff.

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills.
• Commitment to the YMCA mission and character development.
• Understanding of sports rules and regulations relevant to the duties.
• Meet pre-employment requirements, including a criminal background investigation as required.
• Obtain CPR/AED, First Aid, and Safe Schools certifications within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Follow YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures.
• Serve as a role model to staff, members, and guests by demonstrating the YMCA mission and core values.
• Provide service and engagement that builds relationships and fosters loyalty.
• Assist with sports activities to advance the YMCA program.
• Perform record keeping and tracking of sporting events as needed.
• Submit vacation requests two weeks before taking time off, in accordance with the vacation policy.
• Give two weeks’ notice before resigning from the position.
• Attend required all-staff meetings.
• Complete other duties assigned by the supervisor.
