About The Position

The Sponsored Programs Officer I/II/III is a position within UF’s Division of Sponsored Programs responsible for facilitating a wide range of sponsored programs administration activities. Level I is an entry-level position responsible for learning and facilitating these activities, working on developmental assignments that are initially routine in nature, requiring limited judgment and decision making. Level II and III are experienced-level positions responsible for facilitating a wide range of sponsored programs administration activities, with Level III managing the most highly complex pre-award and non-financial post award transactions. These experienced professionals apply theory to practice, possess broad job knowledge, and analyze problems/issues of diverse scope to determine solutions.

Requirements

  • Level I: Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in research administration.
  • Level II: Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of experience in sponsored program administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Level III: Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and three years of experience in sponsored program administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Level II: At least three years of sponsored programs administration experience that demonstrates knowledge of federal policies governing the administration of grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements at educational institutions, including but not limited to the Federal Uniform Guidance, Federal Acquisition Regulations, Code of Federal Regulations, NIH Grants Policy Statement, NSF Grants Policy Manual, knowledge of contracting and regulations applicable to the University of Florida.
  • Level II: Ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Level II: Ability to be an effective communicator verbally and in writing.
  • Level II: Ability to critically think and use good judgment.
  • Level II: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Level II: Ability to interface with electronic business applications with other systems.
  • Level II: Ability to use with personal computers, Windows, Word, Access Database, Excel, UFIRST and myUFL Grants.
  • Level III: At least three years of sponsored research administration experience that demonstrates knowledge of federal policies governing the administration of grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements at educational institutions, including 2 CFR 200, Federal Acquisition Regulations, Code of Federal Regulations, NIH Grants Policy Statement, NSF Grants Policy Manual, and knowledge of State regulations applicable to the University of Florida.
  • Level III: Ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Level III: Ability to be an effective communicator verbally and in writing.
  • Level III: Ability to critically think and use good judgment.
  • Level III: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Level III: Ability to interface with electronic business applications with other systems.
  • Level III: Ability to use enterprise applications and various personal computing tools.
